Evan rolled a perfect 300 game in Game 5 of the 8-game Elite Bowlers
showdown on December 6 to capture the coveted Male Elite Bowlers
of the SFBC's 2nd Conference. Trailing Lino Balagtas from Game 1
to Game 4, Evan snatched the leader board after burning lanes 13-14
for his first ever perfect game in an SFBC sanctioned tournament.
Evan's 8-game total was 1,854pf for an average of 231.75pf.
In
the ladies division, Minda Meneses lived up to her top-seeded billing
as she led the 10-player field in 8 games, averaging 199.88 pf.
Ricky
Esteban who started the field with a lean 151 on the first salvo
made a very strong comeback in the next 7 games as he leapfrogged
from 5th place in Game 7 to finish off the field on 2nd after rolling
a high 255 in the final 8th game.
Che
Marquez, like Esteban, binned an average first game of 181 settled
for the bronze medal and kept eventual 4th placer Mario Hilado at
bay for a 9-pin difference for the bronze medal despite Hilado's
last ditch effot of 234 in the final game.
Lino
Balagtas led the men's division from Games 1 to 4 but lost his momentum
during the next four games, eventually dropping to 5th position
after rolling a meager 159 on the last game.
Meanwhile,
veteran Myteth Conejero captured the silver medal with 1,436pf as
Grace Abalos dugged herself out of the cellars to finish strongly
with 1,419pf for the bronze medal.
Myra
Maglalang finished on 4th with 1,405pf as Vicky Joquico settled
for 5th position after a low game of 155 on the final game to total
1,404pf.
