Title: Invitational Games Format, Rules, and Schedule

1. Introduction

The main goal of the invitational games is to promote camaraderie, good sportsmanship, strong bonding between member bowlers, and encourage friendly competition amongst the FBF member clubs.

2. Guidelines

2.1 Team Allocation/Club <Cont. ..penalty>

Each member club is allocated with a minimum number of participating teams as follows:

The total 21 teams is used as basis of calculations for the standardized team and individual prizes, host club's contribution to the FBF, and other expenses incurred by the hosting club.

2.2 Pacer Team(s)

There is no defined ruling with regards to a PACER team, but because of the constrained budget (see Distribution of Fees), prerogative is given to the host. In case the host chooses to field a pacer team, the pacer team should be comprised of regular bowlers and not fun-bowlers, to avoid inconvenience to the officially lined-up bowlers vying for honors.

3. Team Registration Fee

Each team shall be collected of 650AED as team registration fee. This amount is equivalent to 130AED X 5 players/team.

4. Distribution of Fees

Item Description
Trophies and Medals 2500AED - FBF to approve/procure items as part of standardization.
Team Prizes 5400AED - see team awards for distribution.
Individual Prizes 500AED - see Individual Awards for distribution
Lane Fees 5 players x 4 games x no. of teams x lane fee
Host's contributioon to FBF 500AED

4.1 In the event that the minimum 21 team entries is not met, a penalty shall be imposed upon the club for non-compliance to the team allocation/club rule. Penalty is set at 450AED per team not fielded.

 

5. Games Format <back to top>

5.1 Qualifying Games

Each team shall play 4 games. The top three teams of each division, with the highest total series score shall proceed to a step-ladder match. In case of any tie, the following tie-breakers shall be used in its order:

A 2-frame roll-off shall be played to break any tie.

5.2 Step-ladder Finals

Match Game 1: Team Ranked No.3 vs. Team Ranked no.2

Teams ranked no.2 and ranked no. 3 will play one game. The team with the higher total score will move on to the next step-ladder match to play against team ranked no. 1.

A 2-frame roll-off shall be played to break any tie.

5.3 Winner of the 1st Match Game vs. Team Ranked no. 1

Winner of the match game between teams ranked no.2 and no.3 will play against the no.1 ranked team. The team with the higher total series score in two games shall be declared the champion.

A 2-frame roll-off shall be played to break any tie.

5.4 Step ladder lane fees shall be borne by the playing teams.

7. Individual Awards

High Series Score - Individual Medal and cash (150AED) for each division

High Game Score - Individual Medal and cash (100AED) for each division

 

8. General Rules <back to top>

8.1 Team Composition

Each team shall be composed of 5 players.

There shall be no rules on the bowler's classification or his/her average.

 

8.2 Team Uniform

Team players shall wear proper uniform bearing the logo of the FBF.

8.3 Tardiness and Player - No - Show

8.3.1 A tardy player shall be awarded 9 pinfalls per missed frame up to 5th frame.

8.3.2 If tardy bowler failed to bowl on the 6th frame, he/she shall be declared a no-show and will automatically be given a blind score of 130. The tardy player may bowl on the second game.

 

9. Lane Rules

FIQ standard bowling rules shall be applied. In addition, the following rules shall be strictly implemented to avoid possible injury to bowlers.

1. It is not allowed to smoke cigars/cigarettes in the bowlers' playing and sitting area.

2. It is not allowed to bring foods and drinks in the bowlers' playing and sitting area.

3. It is not allowed to apply powder on the lanes or in any part of the bowling shoes.

4. It is not allowed to apply liquid on the lanes or in part of the bowling shoes.

Violation of lane rules 3 and 4 may result in disqualification or ejection from the games.

 

10. Lane Movement

Lane movement after every game. Teams on the odd-numbered lane shall move to the odd-numbered lane on the left. Teams on the even-numbered lane shall move to the even-numbered lane on the right.

 

11. Foods and Beverages

Foods and drinks are available in both Khalifa and Dubai Bowling centers. It is not allowed to bring in foods and drinks.
